Kardashian Karma

No I am not referring to a new product the Kardashian Klan is endorsing (but, for the record, they do own a makeup line aptly titled “Kardashian Khroma”), but I am referring to the due date of Kim Kardashian’s baby.

Don’t get me wrong, I have a guilty pleasure with all things Kardashian-related. I even really like them. Perhaps I feel a sense of duty to like them because Kourtney, Kim and Khloe all went to my high school (so if they have a reality show that means I could have one too, right?). Yep, everyday I would walk down the corridor of Marymount High School to see their graduation pictures lined along the wall.

The “Karma” I am referring to; however, is the due date of Kim and Kanye’s (aka KimYe’s) baby. For those of you who live under a rock, Kim and Kanye are expecting a baby. Kanye made this announcement in an oh-so-classy way at a concert…without Kim’s prior knowledge. While this is certainly publicity-worthy itself, it is important to note that Kim is still technically married to Kris Humphries (wow he’s really trying to drag out those 15 minutes of fame into 16). Kim and Kanye, excuse me: KimYe, are pretty much American royalty so what could possibly upstage the birth of KimYe’s baby? The birth of an ACTUAL royal baby. You may have heard of them: the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (apparently they’re quite a big deal).

I might be a terrible human but I secretly love the fact that both KimYe’s baby and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby are both due in July. How annoyed do you think Kim is right now? Getting married is supposed to be one of the biggest events of your life (apparently Kim doesn’t quite agree because she’s already been married twice: once in Vegas and the second time with over 400 cameras filming it…”Klassy”) but the birth of your child is arguably the biggest event of your life. You know Kim is crossing her fingers that the Duchess of Cambridge has her baby second because if Kim has her baby second then people won’t care about Kim’s baby as much because everyone will be focused on the actual royal baby. If everyone is focused on the royal baby then this means that the price of the pictures Kim sells to People (which she will most definitely sell…it’s Kim…she built her empire around a reality show about herself) will steeply decline. And that’s all she really wants, isn’t it?
