Facebook Weight Loss?

A woman from Canada had just about reached 380 pounds at only the age of 15, being 5’7” tall. Realizing that she was in dire need of some serious lifestyle changes in order to live healthily, she joined a local gym and began a more nutritious eating regiment. She began to shed the extra pounds immediately. However, after a few months of her new lifestyle, she slowly began to fall back into her unhealthy ways and habits. Enter the Facebook weight loss.

The woman decided she would set up a Facebook page to share her stories with others, while simultaneously inheriting automatic accountability from her Facebook friends and those who chose to follow her Facebook weight loss page. She would post photos of any progress that she had made and share her experiences. She lost more weight, including the weight she had gained when she fell back into her old norms after starting a diet, thanks to the support and accountability of those on her Facebook weight loss page.

After this experience, the woman actually launched another Facebook weight loss page, in order to coach and inspire others who may be looking for the same motivation she had needed and found. The title of her newly launched page is Facebook.com/healthychanges, and has had a huge influx of followers, with over 1,000 likes. She says that she now feels that she is taken more seriously and that people look up to her.

Not many would think about the benefits of having a Facebook weight loss page. Facebook, along with other social media sites, indeed allow for such two-way communication and feedback, that this is actually a great idea in finding accountability and support.
