The Fastest Year Yet has come to an End

Just when I thought time could not pass any faster, this semester happened. Junior year has come and gone in a flash and a blur, and I am still trying to figure out where the time went. With ease, this has been the fastest year yet.

Going Abroad

Starting off this school year in Madrid, Spain, I was prepared to have my best year of college yet. Fortunately, I was not disappointed. Not only did I become fluent in Spanish, travel around Europe with my best friend, and create an unforgettable relationship with a Spanish family, but I also grew and learned a lot about myself.

Coming back to the U.S. after Spain was an eye-opening experience. I never realized how easy I have it here. After growing so accustomed to a language barrier, who would have thought how convenient speaking the same language as those around you actually is. I brought home many gifts and memories to share, but the most important thing I brought back home with me was independence. The independence I need at this crucial time of my life.

Independent Woman

As I began applying for jobs, having interviews, and taking my future a lot more seriously, my new found independence could not have come at a better time. Since I survived four months of living in a foreign country, I now felt completely capable and comfortable enough with myself to put myself out there. Whether it is going to a restaurant alone or entering a room full of potential employers, I can now do it with ease and confidence, and it feels amazing! I now feel excited to get involved in activities that push me, and look forward to being thrown into a corporate world with real pressure in the near future.

The Fastest Year Yet

The fact that this year is already over blows my mind. Whether it was the endless fun or the hefty workload, my junior year has literally flown by. Though I feel nervous about entering into my last year of school ever, I can’t help but feel excited too. All of the hard work I have put into the last 15 years of school is about to come to a close, and I will finally be able to apply it to real life. I have no idea what is in store for me in the future, but I have a feeling it will be all good things. Cheers to what is to come!Fastest year yet
