Facebook Tool Helps People in Paris

In the wake of the Paris terror attacks, the city is a flood of chaos and confusion. In an effort to find out connect to friends, family, and loved ones, people are flocking to a “newish” Facebook tool. The Facebook tool helps users find out if their friends, family, and loved ones are safe. facebook app for paris terror attacks

The Facebook tool helps people search whether people are safe. To use the tool, you should first mark yourself as “safe.” Then, you can use the tool to search for friends who have marked themselves as “safe.” Facebook originally launched this tool in October 2014, following the Nepal Earthquake. This is the first time it has been used in a non-natural disaster. A Facebook spokesperson said, “Communication is critical in these moments both for people there and for their friends and families anxious for news. People turn to Facebook to check on loved ones and get updates, which is why we created Safety Check and why we have activated it today for people in Paris.”

This Facebook tool helps connect friends in times of chaos, and hopefully is able to bring comfort to thousands of Parisians during this time of crisis. jamie is marked safe in he parisian attacks
