Apple Pay: Convenient Single Touch Checkout

Do you find yourself endlessly digging for your wallet once you reach the checkout at the grocery store? Or frantically searching for the right card floating around the bottom of your purse? Apple Pay is the answer to your every worry and revolutionizes the way you pay at the register.

Apple Pay is the easiest way to checkout

This is an iPhone 6 showing Apple Pay featuresNow paying in stores happens with the touch of one one finger. Actually. Thanks to the innovative technology in the Apple Watch and iPhone 6, you don’t even have to open an app. To pay, you just hold your finger on the home button (Touch ID) while near the contactless reader. And instantaneously a quick vibration or beep notifies you if the transaction was successful.

iPhone uses Apple Pay to pay in apps, too. It’s as quick as selecting the Apple Pay option and holding your finger on the Touch ID. Payment complete.

The set up is simple. Passbook, which already stores your boarding passes, coupons, tickets and more, can now store your credit and debit cards, too. To add a new card to the iPhone you can manually type it in or use the built in camera to capture your card information.

Apple Pay is secure

Unlike how your credit or debit card information is visible when you pay with it in a store, Apple Pay hides the actual card numbers from plain sight. Once the card information is added to Passbook, a unique Device Account Number is set up, encrypted and stored in an iPhone chip called the Secure Element. At no point is the card information ever stored on Apple servers. Similarly, when using Apple Pay to purchase something, the Device Account Number is collected to process a payment rather than your physical card numbers.

And better yet, you’re still protected even if you lose your phone. Through Find My iPhone, you can put the device in Lost Mode, or clear the contents of the device all together.

Apple Pay: The virtual wallet

Gone with the daily panic over losing your card or thinking someone has stolen your information. Apple Pay completely eliminates the stress of searching for your credit card once you reach the cash register. And the cherry on top: since you never have to show your physical card to the cashier, your personal information remains personal. As it should be.

Coming to you in October.
