Uber Launches Food Delivery App UberEats

Is the new food delivery app UberEats the answer to our prayers?

First, Uber drove you around. Next, Uber brought you puppies. Now, Uber is bringing you food. Through the new stand-alone food delivery app UberEats, the popular ride-sharing app will now deliver food around the clock.

After a successful trial period in Toronto last year, Uber Technologies, Inc. announced the expansion of the service in January. Earlier today, the tech company officially rolled out their new food delivery app UberEats for hungry patrons living in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco (where the company is based), and Toronto. The service will soon be available in Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Melbourne, New York, Paris, Seattle and Washington, D.C., per a statement.

Unfortunately for UberEats, the food delivery app industry is already pretty crowded. Popular, established apps such as Grubhub, Seamless, DoorDash, EAT24 and Favor already dominate the market. Additionally, Internet giant Amazon started to dabble in the food delivery service last year.

Fortunately for UberEats, they offer features that they believe will set them apart from their competition. Their most compelling feature is their Instant Delivery menu. This menu shifts daily, and customers who order from this menu can expect to see their food in 10 minutes or less. Talk about speedy!

Additionally, customers will be able to peruse the menus of hundreds of local restaurants. These menus will update multiple times per day, making sure that patrons will be able to specifically order off restaurants’ breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night menus.

Finally, UberEats will offer help to customers who can’t make up their minds. The app will allow restaurants to feature their most popular dishes to tantalize hungry users. Additionally, users will be able to search for dishes by cuisine via UberEats’ search function.
