My Academic Curtain Call

The past four years I spent studying at Southern Methodist University might just be the fastest years I have ever experienced.  When I look back at the trials, tribulations, and academic accomplishments of my undergraduate collegiate career it’s hard not to get relatively sentimental.

My peers and I have been through an extremely eventful time during SMU’s history.  From the Centennial Celebration to the opening of the Bush Library Center, we have victoriously celebrated the fact that we’re fortunate enough to go to such a fantastic university.  Being a mustang is something to be very proud of, and I can already start to feel the ripple effects of the moniker as I enter into the work force.

The time I spent studying public relations, strategy, and digital media through SMU’s Communication Studies department will be one of the memories I cherish the most.  I’ve had the good fortune of meeting some pretty amazing people who I get to call my friends, and I have listened to and absorbed as much knowledge as I could from such an incredibly talented faculty.  I will miss many aspects of SMU’s campus community, but I try not to dwell on the memories for too long because I know that I have bigger plans ahead of me to look forward to.
