platform is a lifestyle site centered around medical marijuana. Snoop has been a recent supporter of tech products, investing in Reddit, the mobile app Secret, and photography app Shots. However, his new social network site Merry Jane takes his interest to a new level. Merry Jane launches next month, with an a’pot’priate amount of beta users–420.

Snoop wants his new social network to provide users with “all they need to know” about marijuana. Content for the website includes cooking shows that teaches users how to make their own edibles and editorial content from celebrities Seth Rogan and Miley Cyrus, who are “down with the team.” Snoop also wants Merry Jane to be a news platform for the politics and business surrounding marijuana, as well as news about legalization, industry growth, and state policy.

The new social network also incorporates local dispensaries, aiming to inform users about different strains of cannabis and connect them with providing dispensaries. Dispensaries can upload full menus of their bud bar, including edibles, wax, and shatter. While advertising is part of the business plan, the most important priority is for Merry Jane to be a destination for brands and retail locations to connect with cannabis enthusiasts.

Snoop plans to use this new social network to bring people out of the closet saying,“There are so many people in the closet, and we are giving them an opportunity to come out of the closet and just admit they like to smoke. I’m a smoker, my name is Snoop Dogg, and I’m a stoner.”
