PRSSA 2014 National Conference

Student leaders and public relations professionals unite at the PRSSA 2014 National Conference in Washington D.C. this weekend. A letter from the Conference Committee states, “We encourage you to join us for five days of professional networking and development that is sure to lead to new insights and opportunities in the field of public relations. ‘Intersections: The Meeting Place of Communications and Culture’ is a theme inspired by the diversity in the world of public relations that we all must embrace and celebrate throughout our careers. Conference participants will have the opportunity to hear keynote addresses from major public relations leaders, attend professional development sessions revoling around media relations, entertainment PR, crisis communications, and other PR topics, as well as attend a career development exhibition.

Student have fun opportunities to mix and mingle with fellow PRSSA members from across the United States at events such as the Opening Night Celebration titled “An Evening at the Embassies.” International cuising, photos, and dancing will welcome the conference attendees.

As an educational experience, students will hear Pam Jenkins, President of Powell Tate, speak about the role of “diversity in the creation and execution of ideas that incite action,” Fred Cook, CEO of Golin, discuss “ways in which you can forge a unique yet successful path in the world of public relations,” and Mike Buckley speak on his role as Vice President of Global Business Communications of Facebook.

As the doors open to the Omni Shoreham Hotel in D.C., students and professionals alike enter with smiling faces and leave with great connections.
