A Glance Back At The Best 4 Years Of My Life

I don’t even know where to start when writing this blog. There are so many memories, pictures, conversations, and inside jokes from the last 4 years running through my mind. I guess I will begin my blog by reminiscing about the search for a roommate, and the place where it all started… Boaz Hall circa 2010.

Before school even started I remember the panic I felt when I realized I needed to find a roommate. I  frantically turned to “SMU’s Class of 2014”  Facebook page and began rapid firing messages to girls who ‘looked’ like they would potentially be good roommates (pretty profile pictures, cute clothes, looked fun?). It should have been titled “Online Dating: Roommate Edition,” because that was essentially what we were doing…

Maggie and I fought long and hard to get into the infamous ‘Boaz Hall’ and when we stepped foot into Room #2 we knew we were going to make some unforgettable memories. From the never ending chaos that wreaked havoc throughout  our halls at all hours, to the weekly “damage”  meetings held by our RA’s,  there was never a dull moment. Without a doubt, the second floor of Boaz (2010-2011) amassed a ridiculously high amount of damage charges thanks to the fratastic boys who lived on our floor.

We never had any “EXIT” signs left on Monday’s following the weekend, and there were always mysterious holes in the wall. But, I will admit that I was responsible for ruining a microwave, once. I was preparing a late night snack of microwavable kraft mac n’ cheese and  innocently forgot that the dish requires water to cook the pasta (a.k.a I turned the pasta into a flaming charred mess). Other than that one tiny minute incident I was what you could call a “perfect student/dorm occupant/non-troublemaker” etc.

My whole college experience could never be summed up into one blog, so this is why I will leave you all with simply a glimpse into the best, and most challenging 4 years of my life.

  1. I’ll never forget you being the first SMU girl I met on my visit with Richard freshman year, but I think it was the fact that we went to a rodeo and formal together than night that made me realize we would be friends

  2. I love that you still have the facebook conversation, very cute. Also, I’m proud to say we both survived the second floor of Boaz. Nothing will ever compare to the shenanigans that went down there.
