Today, Twitter announced after being criticized for its all-male lineup hired Dame Majorie Scardino to join its executive board. In the past month, the Mavs have been posting short, hysterical, parody videos to the Dallas Mavericks YouTube page. Paying attention to viral internet trends like popular music or videos, the Mavs have created a comical persona through social media.
Mysterious British street artist Banksy known for his satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humor with graffiti done in a distinctive stenciling technique. Earlier this month, Banksy announced his one month residency in New York via his blog simply stating “For the next month Banksy will be attempting to host an entire show on the Streets of New York.” His exhibit “Better Out Than In” features artwork on buildings, statues, and live works of art. Banksy, debuts one piece of art a day and completes pieces late at night. Generating huge media attention and buzz, Banksy implemented social media to share his work through social media.

The rapper, The Game is using social media platform Instagram to promote his charity “The Robin Hood Project.” His goal is to give away $1 million of his own money by Christmas to people in need. His Instagram account, is filled with Polaroid like photos of people he has given money to. The photos caption includes the amount that was donated and why. It varies from $50 – 20,000. Towards the end of our college careers our professors start to give us more assignments that will help us in the real world. We finally have the opportunity to write our final papers and projects on things that interest us. This is a really great opportunity to do our best work because who knows who might see it. It may land you a potential job. One public relations college student did a final project on Snapchat that was so GOOD, that people believed he was Snapchat’s publicist.

Older generations, like our parents seemed to wonder why this would make national news. Our generation on the other hand, thought “oh no she didn’t”.
