Instagram

Instagram is for the more aesthetic younger generations. From middle schoolers to young adults in their late twenties, there are many opportunities for trends following this platform.

Facebook

Next, Facebook is home to the moms and dads of all generations. Older generations are on Facebook to show off their children and celebrate events in their lives while staying up to date with friends. This platform was the third social media to exist and by far the most successful. It continues to make updates, including the Facebook business profile. This is an excellent way to get information on your business and customer interaction directly. Here are some tips and tricks to interacting with your Facebook audience.

Twitter

Twitter is a more fun and friendly way to interact with an audience. This social media application allows for memes to turn into marketing. Once again, it is all about following the trends, specifically with memes, on Twitter. Surprisingly while still full of younger generations, 70% of users are male.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is full of young and old business professionals. While this website is not the most advantageous for advertising, it builds your network. LinkedIn specializes in professionally connecting with others and celebrating their careers.

Tiktok

Last but certainly not least is the infamous Tiktok. Despite its short-lived career, your daughter, cousin, boss, and even grandmother have heard of Tiktok. Tiktok and its millions of users, along with a “built for you” algorithm, create a space for anyone to become “Tiktok famous.” This platform has a widespread user age range, which makes it more difficult to identify this social media’s demographic. It is more specific to younger adults, but the videos produced on Tiktok have made their way onto every other social media platform. This platform has broken the boundaries of social media analytics. Transcending generation, Tiktok is by far the most crucial application to find your audience and use trends to interact with them.

There are plenty more platforms for companies to look into when breaking down social media demographics. These include Pinterest, Telegram, YouTube, and even VSCO and Snapchat. These are just a few breakdowns of popular social media applications.
