Future Books: How Technology has impacted the paper book

Over the course of the past ten years, the life of paper books has been dwindling. Will future books be converted only digital channels or will the paper life of books come back? Thanks to, iPads, nooks, kindles and eBooks, the future of books looks grim. Why go and buy a book when you can instantly download it on a device?

Future Books? As a society, we have become lazy.

America has become a place where if something is wanted, it can usually be bought instantly show up at a doorstep within hours or days. Since that mindset is constantly reinforced everyday due to new technology, the idea of going to Barnes and Noble to get a book sounds AWFUL. How sad.. Instead of getting in the car, go straight to Amazon and download an eBook file

So what does this mean for the future of Books?

Many bookstores have closed over the course of the past 5 years. While the popularity of reading for pleasure has stayed the same, the act of going out and buying a book has significantly decreased. Everyone is guilty of downloading PDF versions of books or going to on Google and searching the books. A lot of research has been done on this topic and no one is really sure what will happen foThe Future of Booksr the future of books. My hope is that books will be reignited into our society. Nothing is better than dog earing a page, writing down notes and highlighting interesting quotes.

Now, kids are using their iPad pens to create cool designs on their eBooks. The idea of holding a book and taking it with you through life has become a far and distant memory. Thank goodness for college, half of the sales of paper books come solely from college students needing them for their classes Let’s hope that paper books will still be a thing for the years to come.
