Staying productive during quarantine is very difficult. For many people, working from home is not the norm. There are so many distractions at home, making it almost impossible to stay productive. But it’s time to accept that working from home is our new normal for the time being. Here are a few tips to help you stay productive!
Create a Productive Workspace
The key to staying productive is to establish a permanent work space. Design a space that is perfectly suited to your own work style. Try to designate a certain room or table as your workspace instead of your couch or bedroom. This space will be used specifically for work. Having this designated workspace will get you into the right frame of mind and keep you motivated.
Make a Daily To-Do List
Writing down the things you need to get done will increase productivity at home. By actually seeing what you need to do, you will be more motivated to accomplish them. At the start of each day, take a few minutes to see what work needs to be done and write it all down. It also helps to cross off each item once it is completed. This will keep you accountable and organized. You increase your chances of being productive when you set an intention.
Dress for Success
Just like in the office, you have to set yourself up for success when working from home. Just because you’re working from home doesn’t mean you should stay in your pajamas all day. Putting on something you would typically wear to work will increase your productivity. Stick to your typical morning ritual of getting ready for work.
Take Breaks
To stay productive, you have to remember to take breaks throughout the day. Take this time to get away from your workspace and clear your head. Just because you are working from home doesn’t mean you should feel guilty for taking a quick break. Then once you get back to work, you will be more productive and produce high-level work.
