Fashion, glamour and style come together for a good cause in Demerara’s one-of-a-kind fashion show
Demerara, the well-known Dallas boutique on McKinney Ave., will be hosting its fashion show tonight at its West Village location from 6:00-9:00PM. The store, which offers chic and stylish options for both men and women, partners with SMU’s Retail Club and The Women’s Interest Network to bring this event to life.
The fashion benefaction will have a cost for $7 for general admissions, but students will get a special price of $5 by presenting their student ID. The show will also count with a VIP section, which will have a cost of $10, and will include a Demerara Special Gift Bag. Proceeds of ticket sales will go to benefitting The Family Place, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fight and stop family violence. The Family Place in Dallas provides family violence victims with safe housing and counseling to treat the emotional and physical consequences of domestic violence.
The fashion show will present Demerara’s Spring/Line, which feautures unique outfits with “sleek modern shapes and tailored details”. The unique prints, metallic colors and floral designs will provide a variety of options for different fashion lovers with unique styles. The fashion show will showcase styles for women with different fashion choices and body types.
The event, organized by Demerara owners (and sisters) Cassie and Andrea Ganesh, will count with the presence of both national and international models, including MariaJose Padgett from Honduras, Central America.
“The fashion show will present so many gorgeous Spring styles with floral prints and bold colors. There really is something for everyone so I think anyone and everyone will enjoy the show”, the Honduran model assures.
Padgett explains that the night will not only be a success because of the clothes itself but for the cause it represents. “It’s amazing to be a part of such a noble cause; fashion is giving back!”, the dreamy-eyed brunette states, “The Family Place empowers family violence victims and it is a blessing to be able to contribute to that”.
