How Dating Apps Affect Relationships

Who would’ve thought that dating apps would affect relationships, let alone be some of the most popular apps to engage in.

Dating apps like, Bumble, Tinder, Ok Cupid, are just a few of the countless options for singles out there. Searching for a relationship? Look no longer, pick up a phone and download Tinder and connect with fellow good-looking 20 something’s. How has this become the way to enter into a relationship?Dating Apps

These Apps are doing more than just connecting people, they are affecting relationships.

The idea of meeting someone in a bar, or a coffee shop is slowly diminishing. No one meets that way anymore, it seems. The world now encourages online talking and messaging rather than initial face to face contact. The world that people are growing up in, regardless of when that is, always encourages relationships and the idea of finding a “soul mate”. It does make sense that people are in search for a relationship. Finding it though apps, however, is not the way to do it. For one, the person on the other end of the phone could be a total psycho. In addition, an individual could easily be taken advantage of.

Tinder is the most popular dating App to date. According to an article by Bustle, “With over 7 million monthly users, Tinder was far and away the most popular app” (Bustle). The median age for the app is around 26 years old.  Their findings also said that the other apps that were tested didn’t even come close to reaching the numbers resulting from Tinder. These dating apps are skewing the way people view interaction with one another. However, that will most likely never change. The creation of apps and more technology will outs shine the “old fashioned” ways.

As for some advice, if using dating apps, don’t give away too much infomraiton and always be aware of what the other person is saying.
