Some people love going to restaurants they’ve never been to before and perusing the menu hoping to find a winning entree item. Not me.
I have to “Yelp” restaurants every time I go to a new place. I spend a solid 20 minutes looking at the reviews of customers who previously dined there so that I have an idea of what I should order.
I don’t know why but I feel that by “Yelp-ing” the restaurants, it gives me power. It’s like I know all the secrets and ins and outs of what’s good and what’s not and what waitress is the best and what the specials are on certain nights. It’s gotten to the point that my family makes fun of me and asks “oh are you going to Yelp that?”. Why yes, as a matter of fact I am, thank-you-very-much. My family now even tells me not to tell them what I recommend because they think it will spoil their opinion of their meal depending on what everyone else says. Fine with me. You can enjoy your mediocre entree while I feast on the best item on the menu.
So while I might have a Yelp addiction, at least I know what the best items are.
