At the moment of this entry not quite yet but it is aimed at unlimited participation and open access via internet. In addition to traditional course materials such as videos, readings and problem sets, MOOCs provide interactive user forums that help build a community for the students, professors, and teaching assistants (TAs.)
Curious minds wonder if the list presented here is a MOOC option for learning skills that are worth their time. Of course it is! Education is a life journey and even better when it is affordable (an exception in a market-driven world.) MOOC’s are a recent development in distance education, they are bound to change rapidly, for those who can afford the luxury of time and are willing to commit, these options are worth bookmarking.

a MOOC option for learning and earning college credits?
It is not the random question anymore. With more elite university professors making their foray into a MOOC option for learning ‘big school’ interesting topics, what may become a trend has already started, and sooner than later more may join. Maryland University College, Georgia Tech, Central Michigan and Western Carolina universities, the State University of New York Empire State College, Kaplan, American Public University and Regis University are some of the pioneers.
By all means help making MOOC option for learning a valid one by not becoming the statistical majority who does not complete a course. Dare! Life is short and horizons are there to cross them.

That is awesome. I know plenty of people who have taken online courses (me one of them) but I didn’t know anyone who’d experienced one outside their universities of their degree enrollment as it happen with MOOCs; so it’d be cool if you posted the URL to the institution/vendor/site of you are affiliated with to to take a look.

At this time I’m active on a couple of these “MOOCs,” with one to learn a language. I love how it is open source and easily accessed. This would be awesome if schools started engaging in this and taking it as college credit.
