Android , Information That Moves with you

“Android Wear extends the Android platform to a new generation of wearable devices.”

On March 18 Google Inc.  introduced their  new project idea: The Android Wear. This project brings the Android Smart Phone into wearable computers.  The company released a  video-demo showing how the device would work. It uses voice commands to provide the user with all the information they need wherever they go.

Watches used to be just an accessory,  a tool to have accessibility to the time at all times. However, overtime watches have also become more useful in the everyday life. For example it serves as a  tool for athletes to measure their endurance, their heart rate, calories burned. Nowadays, a watch serves for more than a watch it  serves as a personal assistant, and smart phone  on your wrist.

Android is expanding into wearable technology, to provide users with useful information  automatically in their wrist wherever they go. Android wear is like having Google now in your body by providing timely information to the user.  Google Now is an intelligent personal assistant developed by Google that is available within the Google Search mobile application for the Android and iOS operating systems.

In order to release this new Technology Google is associating with several technological companies such as Samsung Electronics Co, LG Electronics e Intel Corp. Fossil among others  to develop this new line of watches.

Is predicted that the Android Wear will officially kick off the wearables industry and increase its development. Other companies are following this initiative such as Samsung and Apple.
