Bloggers love it; why don’t you?
Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook…you name it, Millennials are on top of it. However, Periscope is nearing its one year birthday, yet hasn’t seem to catch on quite like these others. Periscope, the live streaming video app, appears to intimidate users who aren’t familiar to the filmed scene. After all, you are posting this video to be seen live in front of a live audience. This Periscope 101 guide is here to break it down for you so that you feel comfortable rockin’ it in front your viewers.
Start out simple. Sign in via your Twitter account or phone number, then head to your Tabs section where you’ll see four different options: those whom you follow who are “live” at the moment, people who you can follow, a map depicting live public broadcasts which you can join, and the option to start a broadcast. By enabling your camera, microphone and location (which can be hidden before the broadcast goes live), it is easy as pushing a button and going live from there.
Periscope encourages users to “explore the world through someone else’s eyes” and watch breaking news as it happens. With so many various streams to sift through, Periscope depends on users putting in effort to find the broadcast that is enticing. While other apps of this realm do exist, Periscope is the best of its kind in several different ways: the automatic connection with Twitter linking friends, the option to keep past streams, and ability to send “hearts” to broadcasters, connecting users one step further to others.
With so many compelling reasons to download it, what is it that’s stopping social media users everywhere from downloading it? Trends have showed that bloggers are hopping on this bandwagon because of its ability to demonstrate their personality easily, connect quickly, and do so all within reasonable time. Don’t let the live factor intimidate you-there’s no pressure because everyone is watching for the sole reason of experiencing the raw, unedited version of what you’re providing. And that is where the beauty lies: unfiltered scenes from all walks of life at your service. Download it here for free.
